So what is a niche?

Yes it really is that simple. Anything you or anyone else is interested in is a niche.
Products make fantastic micro niches. You would be amazed at how many people are looking for specific products online. When you find specific product keywords you are finding keywords people are using when they are ready to buy!

How do I find daily niches?

This is where you will have to dig a little deeper to find a good niche and some keywords that will work for your mini sites.This is what I love the most. Finding niches.
Some people shy away from this part of the process, but to me it's like a treasure hunt!!
Here are some ideas for coming up with niche ideas.
--> Look around your area, write down everything you see. EVERYTHING!
Now I add to it, put each of the basic words you find in the Google adwords keyword tool and see what you get.
--> Look around you everywhere you go. Take paper with you and write down everything you come across for a whole day.
Then put each main topic in the Google keyword tool and see what comes up.
--> Go to ebay pulse and look through categories there.
Put main categories in the Google keyword tool and see what comes up.
--> Go to website directories and look at the categories they have.
Put those categories in the Google keyword tool and see what comes up.
--> Go to Amazon, check out their categories, check out the topics of books.
Put them all in the Google keyword tool and see what comes up!
--> Get daily niches sent to you! Yes you can get niches sent to you daily for free. These niches will probably NOT be great to go with right away, but they can give you great ideas to dig down on.
The more you let yourself go, and think outside the box the more money making ideas and possibilities you will come up with.

What makes it so fantastic is it helps you find keywords (niches) that meet all the criterion you need.
You know, search volume, competition level, commercial intent ~ all the things you want to know about a niche ~ it's all in one place. On one screen. It makes it quick and easy to find out if a niche is going to work or not work ~ and move on with action, or looking for a new keyword.
The developers have made it really easy by using a color coded system for competition. Each keyword has a little "soc" (strength of competition) box next to it. If the keyword looks like something that might work for you, click the SOC and it will show you a green, yellow or red box. If it's green you're good to go. If it's yellow or red ~ it's going to be tough to rank for that keyword in Google.
There are so many great keywords out there I don't even bother with the yellow and red ones. :)

Characteristics of a Good Niche
how do I know I found a good niche?
This can be the most complicated part of the niche finding process.You want to find a good mix of enough daily searches and not too much competition.
It will also depend what kind of site you are going to build using this keyword. The bigger the site the more competitive the term can be, but if you're building a micro niche site (one or two pages), a Squidoo lens, or something small you want to keep the competition to a very low level so you will be able to get it ranking in the search engines.
Here are my suggestions.
Make sure whatever keyword you choose has at least 1000 searches per month.
If you are doing squidoo or hubpages I try to stick to an SOC of less than 30.
If you are going to build a whole minisite, keep your competition anywhere in the green range for SOC.
Now when you go through, don't get discouraged. It is possible to find these great keywords. They are NOT all taken. Using a tool like Micro Niche Finder will help you drill down to find those niches that are often overlooked or many have yet to find. So there will be some good search traffic and not a lot of competition. Check out the video above to see what I mean.
It just takes some practice, some patients and a little ingenuity and creative thinking to find them. If you try to think more specific instead or more general you'll have an easier time. It's much easier to find a specific product keyword with minimal competition than it is to find a keyword that is about a general topic.

You've Got Good Daily Niches
now what??
You've gone searching for buried treasure and come up with some good daily niches. Now what?Good question, niches won't do you any good sitting in your computer.
You have a couple choices. You can build squidoo lenses or hubpages with them. You can make money that way.
Or you can make minisites using wordpress.
Now that may sound big and scary but it is really quite simple ~ here are a couple programs that will walk you through each and every step you need to know... from how to find your keywords, to how to put your site up.
I've got all the programs and I definitely recommend them for people trying to find a system and get started.

Fed up with trying to sell clickbank products? I was too! I bought Info Product KilleR in October of 2008 (I can't believe it's been that long!). I was hoping to create some income around the Christmas holiday.I had been trying and trying to sell clickbank products with minimal luck ~ a sale here or there.
I bought info product killer and my entire mindset around internet marketing changed. It went from trying to find a keyword and make it fit a product, to trying to match up people with exactly what they are looking for.

The only drawback I found with this program is that he used html to build his sites. That got me very frustrated. I couldn't figure it out to save my life. I just put my sites on wordpress and it all worked out fine ~ however, his examples are all on html sites.

It's called Network Blazer ~ it's pretty cool especially for beginners ~ but keep in mind you are not hosting the sites, so if you cancel your subscription your sites will no longer be hosted.

As with most internet marketers I often find myself buying new products as they come up. Commission ritual was one of them ~ and I was so happy I did.Commission Ritual is a fantastic program that is similar to Info Product Killer in that it uses physical products for niches, but the training is much more specific, the videos are much more detailed, and Brian does a fantastic job with customer service. He is also US based ~ if that makes a difference to you. (IPK owner lives in England)
Commission ritual will show you step by step in written and video format how to build 1 page sites based on physical products. Brian is making a killing doing this, and following his plan my income definitely increased.
You're going to need a little money to do this ~ since you will be buying multiple domainnames ~ but other than that and hosting you won't need to spend any more money if you just stick with this plan.
This is a plan you can stick with for the long haul. It is a program that works, if you work it, and there is no upsell, no left out pieces, it's all there. If you have questions Brian has a members forum where you can ask, and get some additional help.
This is one of my favorite programs and it's definitely a fantastic way to use the daily niche ideas you find. :) Be prepared to do a bunch of sites!
